Life has an uncanny ability to alter its course when unexpected news descends upon us. Such was the case for Angelo Mastropieto, an Englishman whose world shifted upon receiving a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Determined to forge a new path, he embarked on a transformative journey, bidding farewell to his former occupation and embarking on a quest to materialize his long-held architectural aspirations. Yet, this was no ordinary vision of a dream home. Angelo’s imagination took him to a cave, an extraordinary sanctuary he chanced upon during a fateful bike ride in 2009, where he sought refuge from the rain’s unrelenting embrace. Fuelled by an indomitable spirit, Angelo resolved to claim this subterranean treasure as his own, acquiring not only the cave but also the encompassing land, thus commencing a remarkable chapter in his life’s narrative.
