The boundless Wonderland amusement park emerged as an unofficial retort from China to Disneyworld, poised to materialize a mere 32 kilometers from Beijing. Envisioned as the colossal epitome of amusement in Asia, this grandiose endeavor commenced with fanfare but regrettably never reached fruition. Initially halted in 1998 due to financial constraints, a glimmer of hope emerged in 2008 for its revival, only to be met with the same destiny. Ultimately, in mid-May, the partially constructed edifices and attractions met their demise, yet not without attracting hordes of inquisitive tourists. Notably, a solitary guide emerged in the parking lot, leading eager visitors through the remnants of this unrealized dream.
